Our routine overhaul includes the following:

  • Complete disassembly of the watch. Completely disassembled, cleaned, oiled, and timed using state of the art equipment.
  • Clean all moving parts with specialized cleaning solvents.
  • Proper lubrication with only the highest grade lubricants and oils during the reassembly process.
  • Replacement of seals and gaskets.
  • Thorough testing of accuracy. Your watch is tested to our exacting standards over a period of 72 hours to assure accuracy, water resistance, and proper operation of all functions.
  • Additionally, we will also polish the case to remove any surface scratches.


Once our Master Timekeeper has had a chance to inspect your watch and diagnose the problem(s), we will contact you to confirm the estimate. (There is never a charge for the estimate, and if for any reason you decide not to proceed with the repair, WatchRepair.net will ship you back your watch. William Thompson

Life and Times

With an a Master of Fine Arts diploma in one hand and an Anthropology PhD in the other, William Thompson discovered a way to parlay his passion for mountaineering into a fascinating career as a photojournalist – using the camera lens as his ultimate “paintbrush.”

Thompson worked for 12 years with National Geographic, having created the first and only complete aerial coverage of Mt. Everest for the magazine. Other exotic assignments involved traveling via yak train through the Bhutanese Himalaya, living with pygmies in deep of Africa, and photographing the Asian elephant on its tragic path toward extinction.

His commercial image work includes major campaigns for Wells Fargo, Leo Burnett, Starbucks, Marlboro, Boeing, United Airlines, Intel, and Holland America.
